When Will the 2027 COLA Be Announced?
The CPI release schedule, what is known now, and what remains uncertain.

The expected date
The September 2026 CPI data is scheduled for release on October 14, 2026. That release completes the three CPI-W months used for the 2027 COLA. SSA is expected to announce the official adjustment after the final data becomes available.
What is known now
The 2025 Q3 comparison average is fixed at 317.265. The official July 2026 CPI-W reading is 327.104. August and September remain unpublished as of August 29, 2026.
What can change
The final COLA depends on the average of all three months. Release schedules can also change, so the BLS calendar and SSA announcement remain the authoritative sources.
Follow the update
The 2027 COLA Tracker separates official inputs from estimates and will switch to the official status once SSA publishes the adjustment.
